Rick Rowe

Rick Rowe is the Manager, Safety Standdown Programs, based in Wichita, Kansas. His primary duty is leading the Safety Standdown team in development of seminar curriculum and new programs and has been an integral member of Safety Standdown since its conception in 1996.

Mr. Rowe attended the University of Maryland, where he studied Marketing Management while on active duty with the United States Navy. He is a graduate of the National Test Pilot School.

Mr. Rowe obtained his private pilot’s license while serving with the United States Navy in Edzell, Scotland, in 1977. Since that time, he has accumulated over 7,000 flight hours and earned four type ratings: LRJET, LR45, LR60, CL30. He holds two NAA/FAI sanctioned aviation world records with a Learjet 60 midsize jet and one in the Learjet 31A.

Mr. Rowe began his career in aviation over 25 years ago, with the Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas. He joined Bombardier in 1988, working with product support and technical publications. He joined the flight operations department in 1994 where he has served as Standards & Training Captain and Safety Captain and most recently the Chief Pilot for the Learjet Flight Operations team.  Mr. Rowe was promoted to his current position in 2011.
